{"id":165,"date":"2010-10-28T16:48:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-28T22:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rust2.com\/?p=165"},"modified":"2011-09-22T07:52:15","modified_gmt":"2011-09-22T13:52:15","slug":"kid-sized-proton-pack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rust2.com\/?p=165","title":{"rendered":"Kid sized Proton Pack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jack wanted to be a Ghostbuster this Halloween. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t really find any good kid sized Ghostbusters costumes so I figured I can come up with something. \u00a0It needed to be light so making it out of wood was out, I was already working on foam tombstones for the front yard so I decided to use the foam. \u00a0I went to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gbfans.com\/\">GBFANS<\/a> (a great site with tons of Ghostbusters info\/plans etc) and got some ideas. I cut out some foam into the basic shapes and covered it in bondo. After sanding and smoothing it a bit I hot glued on some plastic pieces and other objects\u00a0to give it the basic look:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_DZ6Belc5Jwo\/TMmlWsNEGWI\/AAAAAAAAEbQ\/Ia6JUIA3_Jc\/s1600\/IMG01337-20101027-2113.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_DZ6Belc5Jwo\/TMmlWsNEGWI\/AAAAAAAAEbQ\/Ia6JUIA3_Jc\/s320\/IMG01337-20101027-2113.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The frame for the pack is made from PVC pipe:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_DZ6Belc5Jwo\/TMmmHhHEvhI\/AAAAAAAAEbU\/jFpTlSi-6mg\/s1600\/IMG01339-20101027-2113.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_DZ6Belc5Jwo\/TMmmHhHEvhI\/AAAAAAAAEbU\/jFpTlSi-6mg\/s320\/IMG01339-20101027-2113.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The red piece is a plastic clip of some sort that was lying around, I figured it would make a good holder. \u00a0\u00a0I\u00a0epoxied the PVC frame\u00a0to the pack but wasn&#8217;t so sure if that would hold up. \u00a0I added some\u00a0conduit clips screwing them into the foam back. \u00a0To make sure the screws stayed put, I dabbed some Gorilla Glue into the screw holes. \u00a0The wand is made from PVC pipe, a PVC electrical box and a old rocker switch:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_DZ6Belc5Jwo\/TMmn81-oAEI\/AAAAAAAAEbY\/5uQtaAMIxqY\/s1600\/IMG01340-20101027-2114.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_DZ6Belc5Jwo\/TMmn81-oAEI\/AAAAAAAAEbY\/5uQtaAMIxqY\/s320\/IMG01340-20101027-2114.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>With everything secured and dry I sprayed primer over everything and then layered on some flat black:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;
