{"id":757,"date":"2012-02-07T10:02:57","date_gmt":"2012-02-07T17:02:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rust2.com\/?p=757"},"modified":"2012-02-08T08:58:42","modified_gmt":"2012-02-08T15:58:42","slug":"abandoned-farmhouses-pt-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rust2.com\/?p=757","title":{"rendered":"Abandoned Farmhouses 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>The Gato House<\/h1>\n<p>After moving on from the shell of a <a title=\"Abandoned Farmhouses (pt. 1)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rust2.com\/?p=751\">house<\/a>, I traveled down Westside drive turning left on Gato\u00a0road\u00a0to the next structure. \u00a0This one is a bit more traditional, It even looks like somebody at some point was trying to revive it but for some reason their plans had been cut short.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msa=0&amp;msid=204600700021198483142.0004b860f15d51b0be5c2&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;t=h&amp;ll=31.909388,-106.625874&amp;spn=0.000548,0.000354&amp;output=embed\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<small>View <a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-align: left;\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msa=0&amp;msid=204600700021198483142.0004b860f15d51b0be5c2&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;t=h&amp;ll=31.909388,-106.625874&amp;spn=0.000548,0.000354&amp;source=embed\">House on Gato<\/a> in a larger map<\/small><\/p>\n<p>The adobe construction looks to have stood the test of time and it may have been a comfortable home in its\u00a0heyday. \u00a0Its a single story dwelling with a storage shed in the back.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<dl id=\"\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 510px;\">\n<dt class=\"wp-caption-dt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/juanoxido\/6821196859\/in\/photostream\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gato House\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7143\/6821196859_81029e42fa.jpg\" alt=\"Gato House\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd class=\"wp-caption-dd\">The Gato House<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p>Inside the house is\u00a0gutted\u00a0and what remains leaves little to be desired. \u00a0The original construction looks pretty rough and the fix up\u00a0attempts\u00a0don&#8217;t get past the basic stage.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<dl id=\"\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 343px;\">\n<dt class=\"wp-caption-dt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/juanoxido\/6821200593\/in\/photostream\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Outside in\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7157\/6821200593_a9a5c64a8b.jpg\" alt=\"Outside in\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd class=\"wp-caption-dd\">Outside in<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;m not real sure how\u00a0salvageable\u00a0the structure is. \u00a0The condition of the house may have been what derailed the reconstruction. Not much is left save for a few doors and some old\u00a0cabinetry.
